Cadillac engineers invented the first synchronized transmission, the self-starter, and independent front suspension. And its single-cylinder engines known as "Little Hercules" produced 10bhp, far more than the single-cylinder engines of its competitors. In 1908, Cadillac offered customers a choice of five carryover model: four-cylinder models H and G, made for the luxury market, and the smaller, single-cylinder models S, T, and M.
