Enzo Ferrari's motor company, Scudo Ferrari, had been making winning racing cars since the company was founded in 1929, so when the firm announced its first road vehicle in its twentieth anniversary year, it is hardly surprising that there was a lot of interest. The Ferrari 166 Inter was essentially a racing car redesigned for road use, and its speed and handling were awesome. The highest price so far paid for one was $801,300 US in 2008
